Welcome to Flourish Montessori Learning Academy. My name is Taylor Dupuis, and being able to bring Montessori to the Bow Valley and open this academy with Spring Creek means the world to me.
I grew up in Banff and spent all my school years in Canmore. Over time, I’ve gathered such an appreciation for my surroundings: the mountains, the calm, and the strong sense of community here. It’s one of the reasons Montessori resonates so deeply with me. The philosophy encourages children to slow down, explore, and connect with the world around them in a natural and meaningful way.
Before completing my AMI training, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, which helped me understand children, families and communities from a broader perspective. Studying human development, equity, and social systems gave me an even greater appreciation for Montessori, especially its respect for the whole child. By the whole child, I mean that Montessori supports every part of a child’s growth: their academic learning, their emotional well-being, their independence, their social skills and even their sense of self. It’s not just about what they learn, but who they are becoming: confident, capable and connected.
At Flourish, our vision is to honour each child’s natural curiosity while giving them the academic foundations and meaningful experiences they need to truly thrive. We believe children learn best when they feel seen, supported and empowered. Our classrooms are calm, beautiful, and intentionally prepared so children can move with purpose, make choices and build real skills at their own pace. The Montessori materials introduce rich academic concepts from early mathematics and language to sensorial exploration, geography, and practical life. They are developed in ways that are hands-on, engaging and developmentally aligned.
Our hope is that this becomes a place where children feel safe to explore, where they feel proud of their efforts, and where they develop a deep sense of belonging. Flourish is more than an academy, it's a community built on respect, kindness and connection. It’s a space that encourages children to grow into themselves while being surrounded by the beauty of the mountains and the warmth of the people who call this valley home.
After years of guiding young children, I knew I wanted to help create a space that reflects these values: calm, beautiful, intentional and rooted in kindness. I’m truly grateful to welcome families into this community and to build something so close to my heart, right here where I grew up.
With warmth,
Taylor Dupuis
